Today was the second meeting with our client, ITA, because last week was TABASUKI holiday for ITA employees.
ITA (L'Institut de Technologie Alimentaire)
http://www.ita.sn/
At first, our team member, Petra, Sathish, and I, met Mr. CISSE, Director of the training center at 10am.
Then, we met Ms. DOUMOUYA, Director of extension.
Also we met Mr. Jof and Mr. Kane for the first time.
The meeting continued for two hours and a half (no stopping!) because we would like to ask a lot of information from them. They answered sincerely and kindly.
In the meeting, we got a lot of information. However, we need more information in other ways, by interview from other organization, and field trip, in order to focus on the scope of work and target population.
After the meeting, we had a lunch around 2pm at the local restaurant next to ITA building.
The atmosphere were so Senegalese!
The menu was only two choices.
Petra and Sathish ordered Curry with chicken.
I ordered Fish dish, "Thieboudienne", in Japanese,"チェブジェン".
I enjoyed the dish although I unfortunately ate hot red pepper which it seemed to be tomato.
I could not stop crying for a while... It is Senegal!
At Dinner, Petra, Susanne, Marc, Jing, and I went to the restaurant, "Alkimia" for the first time.
The restaurant was so fancy. All said the atmosphere of the restaurant was like Las Vegas!
Food and service was so nice. I really enjoyed dinner with them:)
I ordered pasta with mushroom.
I hope I enjoy Tomorrow meeting.

Day 1_Oct-11 (Fri)
On Oct 10 at 10:00pm, I left Narita International Airport, Japan by Emirates airline.
I will join IBM CSC (Corporate Service Corps) program in Dakar, Senegal.

After about 11hours flight, I arrived in Dubai Airport around 4am.
If I had some time, I would like to go to the the town in Dubai. Unfortunately, however, I did not visit there this time.
After sunrise, I was glad to see Dubai town from the airport :)
At 7:50am, I left Dubai and head to Dakar. During 11 hours flight, I had interesting experience. I saw many African people standing up from their seats and talked to a lot of neighbors. After I went to the restroom and came back to my seat, some African was seated to my seat in order to talk to neighbors. Also some of Africans talked to me.
I arrived at Dakar Airport at 2:00pm. Dakar was so hot and humid!
I was so worried about immigration examination and VISA. Although I sat in the small room for a long time (I think around 20 minutes), the staff man was sometimes funny and finally I made it!
After I exchanged some US dollars into FCFA and picking up my suitcase, I met the local staff, Mamour and Bye. I felt scared a bit in the airpor. So when I met them, I was so relieved...
They were so kind to me and took me to our hotel.
I arrived at Fana Hotel around 4:30pm. I was so glad to meet some of our Senegal #2 members from all over the world. They were also so nice and kind.
Around 7:30pm, we went to the Morocco restaurant near hotel.
I enjoyed Tagine with seafood and vegetable. So yummy :)
I am looking forward to meeting other members tomorrow!
